Reading through this post, you would definitely realize how lazy this recipe is. Still, somebody will find it totally helpful. The idea behind drinking a mug of Hot Chocolate in the winter season is to warm your body up and, calm your mind since chocolate activates the brain to release the Endomorphin. Being a south Indian, I was never able to enjoy extreme winter conditions. The winter in South India lasted for about a month with a little fog showing up and, that’s it! But, when I came to UAE, I have got to experience the essence of winter throughout 6 months a year. In the winter, I would unquestionably crave for something to warm my body as well as my soul.
So, when it comes to Hot Chocolate drink, I have tasted it from the Starbucks as well as the Tim Horton. Both tasted similar and, to be honest, I wanted to know how it would be to have homemade Hot Chocolate also, these Instagram pics gave me an intense temptation to prepare it. I decided to use dark chocolate and fresh milk to limit the sugar intake as well as the artificial flavourings. Let’s get into the recipe.
Ingredients – For 2 Mugs
Dark Chocolate – Used Lindt Dark Chocolate 70% Cocoa (100 g)
Fresh Milk – 2 cups
Water – 1 cup
Sugar – Optional
- Break the Chocolate bar and put in the milk and water mixture.
- Stir the mixture for 10-12 minutes till the chocolate pieces get dissolved and blended with the milk.
- Add sugar if you have a sweet tooth(optional also I don’t recommend).
- For an additional taste as well as for decorating purposes (for an Instagram pic), I have used marshmallows and peppermint candy cane. (completely optional).
I entirely enjoyed the homemade Hot Chocolate as it tasted way better than the shop bought ones. I’m sure the recipe made from the scratch would taste even better. Hope you enjoyed the lazy recipe and, I would be glad to know your own homemade Hot Chocolate recipes through the comments below.
